The agreement between you and Archetype Strength.

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your membership at Archetype Strength gyms, your use of archetypestrength.com, the member portal at portal.archetypestrength.com, and the Archetype Strength Members iOS / Android apps (collectively, the "Services"). The Services are provided by Archetype Strength, LLC ("Archetype Strength," "we," "us"). By creating an account, signing a membership agreement, or using the Services, you agree to these Terms.
You must be 18 years or older to create an account on your own behalf. Members under 18 must be added by a parent or guardian under a family membership; the adult signing the waiver agrees to these Terms on the minor's behalf.
Recurring billing. Membership tiers bill on a recurring schedule (monthly or annual). By signing up, you authorize us — through Stripe — to charge your payment method on each billing date until you cancel.
Pricing & taxes. Posted prices are in U.S. dollars and exclude applicable taxes, which are added at checkout based on the gym's location.
Cancellation (Final Month Notice). Recurring memberships cancel via the Final Month Notice form at archetypestrength.com/cancel or in the member portal. Once submitted, the next month becomes your final billed month, and your access continues through the end of that month. Drop-in and short-term passes expire automatically — no cancellation needed.
Failed payments. If a charge fails, you have 48 hours of grace before door access is paused. Late fees may apply. Update your card in portal → billing to restore access.
Refunds. Recurring charges are non-refundable except where required by law or where we agree at our discretion. Drop-in passes are non-refundable once activated.
Family memberships. The family primary is responsible for billing for the entire group. Sub-members can be removed by the primary at any time. Discounts are configured per family.
We may suspend or terminate access for any member who violates these rules, with or without refund, at our sole discretion.
Door unlock is granted only when (a) you have an active, paid membership in good standing or a staff-granted access override, (b) you've signed all required waivers, (c) any tier-specific limits (home location, day-pass limits) allow access, and (d) your device is physically inside the gym's geofence at the moment of unlock. We reserve the right to suspend access at any time for safety or billing reasons.
By providing your email and phone number, you authorize Archetype Strength to send you transactional communications related to your account — payment receipts, payment-failure alerts, signup confirmations, badge / community notifications, expiring-card reminders, and other account events — via email, SMS, and push notifications. We do not send marketing SMS. You can disable push categories in Account → Notifications within the portal. You can opt out of email by replying or using the unsubscribe link, and out of SMS by replying STOP. Some transactional notices (billing, account security) cannot be disabled without closing your account.
You're responsible for content you post in the community feed. Don't post content that's illegal, defamatory, harassing, or that infringes someone else's rights. We may remove posts and mute or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. By posting, you grant Archetype Strength a non-exclusive license to display your content within the Services.
Strength training and gym use carry inherent risks. By using the Services, you acknowledge those risks and agree to the terms in the membership waiver(s) you sign at signup. To the fullest extent permitted by law, you release Archetype Strength, its owners, employees, and affiliates from claims arising from your use of the gym, except where caused by gross negligence or willful misconduct on our part.
You're responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and for all activity on your account. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access. We'll never ask you for your password by email or phone.
The Services — including the Archetype Strength name, logo, website, app, and content we publish — are owned by Archetype Strength and protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the Services without our written permission.
The Services are provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability arising out of or related to these Terms or the Services will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid Archetype Strength in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) one hundred U.S. dollars ($100).
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Wake County, North Carolina, and you consent to that jurisdiction.
We may update these Terms from time to time. We'll post the new Terms here and update the "Last updated" date. Material changes will be communicated via email to signed-in members. Continued use of the Services after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
