How Archetype Strength collects, uses, and protects your information.

Our promise: we never sell, rent, trade, or share your personal data with advertisers, data brokers, or third parties for their own marketing.

No mobile information — including phone numbers and SMS opt-in data — is shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Period.

Who we are

This Privacy Policy applies to Archetype Strength, LLC ("Archetype Strength," "we," "us"), our website at archetypestrength.com, the member portal at portal.archetypestrength.com, and the Archetype Strength Members iOS / Android apps (collectively, the "Services"). Information we collect

Account information. Name, email, phone, date of birth, home gym location, emergency contact, and a password (stored hashed by Firebase Authentication).

Membership & billing information. Selected tier, billing location, family group affiliation, signed waivers, and payment history. Card numbers are never stored on our servers — they're tokenized by Stripe and stored only with Stripe.

Gym usage data. Door unlocks (tied to your member ID and timestamp), check-ins (one record per calendar day), personal records (PRs), workouts logged, badges earned, and any community posts you make.

Device information. If you install the mobile app and grant permission, we collect approximate device location (only when you tap "unlock door"), push notification tokens, app version, and the OS reported by your device.

Communications. Records of emails, SMS, and in-app messages sent between you and Archetype Strength (e.g., billing receipts, automation messages, replies to staff).

How we use it

  • To provision your membership, charge your card through Stripe, and apply taxes / family discounts.
  • To verify you're physically at the gym before unlocking the door (geofence check) and to keep an audit trail of who entered when.
  • To send transactional messages — receipts, payment-failure alerts, signup confirmation, expiring-card reminders, and other account-related notices via email, SMS, and push.
  • To operate the member community feed (posts, replies, reactions) within the portal.
  • To prevent fraud, enforce our rules, and respond to security incidents.
  • To improve the Services — anonymized usage patterns help us decide what to build next.

Who we share it with

We do not sell, rent, trade, or share your personal information with third parties for their own marketing or advertising. We do not allow third-party advertising networks, data brokers, or social platforms to track you across our Services. The only parties who ever see your data are the service providers below, who act on our instructions under a written data-processing agreement and may not use your data for their own purposes:

  • Stripe — payment processing, card storage, fraud screening.
  • Firebase / Google Cloud — authentication, database, file storage, push notifications, hosting.
  • Kisi — physical door access; we send your member ID + a timestamp, Kisi unlocks the lock.
  • Twilio & SendGrid — transactional and opt-in SMS and email delivery on our behalf only.
  • Apple & Google — push-notification routing (APNs / FCM) and app distribution.

We share information outside of these providers only when required by law (subpoena, court order, lawful government request), to enforce our Terms, or to protect the safety of our staff and members. We will never share your phone number, SMS opt-in status, or text-message content with any third party for marketing.

Location data

The mobile app requests your location only at the moment you tap "unlock door," to confirm you're inside the gym's geofence (typically a 400-meter radius). We do not record continuous location, do not track you between unlocks, and do not share location data with anyone outside of the Services.

Mobile apps (iOS & Android)

The Archetype Strength Members app is published on the Apple App Store and Google Play. The app collects only the data described in this policy — account information, gym usage data, push tokens, and (with your permission) approximate device location used solely to verify you are inside a gym geofence at the moment you tap "unlock door." We do not include third-party advertising SDKs, analytics SDKs that profile users across other apps, or social-login trackers. The app's App Store and Play Store privacy disclosures mirror this policy.

Text messages & SMS

Consent. We send SMS / text messages only to phone numbers that have been provided to us and opted in — either during signup, by writing your number on a paper waiver, by texting us first, or by enabling SMS in Account → Notifications. Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies based on your account activity.

What we send. Transactional alerts (billing receipts, payment failures, signup confirmations, expiring-card reminders, family invites, door-access issues) and, if you have opted in, occasional class reminders or member announcements.

Opt out anytime. Reply STOP to any message to unsubscribe from that category, or HELP for assistance. You can also turn off SMS categories from Account → Notifications in the portal.

No sharing of mobile data. Phone numbers, SMS opt-in records, and message contents are never shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. They are processed only by Twilio for the sole purpose of delivering messages on our behalf.

Email & bulk messages

Transactional email. Receipts, payment alerts, account notices, password resets, and similar account-related messages are sent to all members and cannot be unsubscribed without closing the account.

Bulk / marketing email. Newsletter, event, and promotional emails are sent only to members and prospects who have opted in. Every bulk email includes a one-click unsubscribe link in the footer (CAN-SPAM compliant), and clicking it removes you from that list immediately. We honor unsubscribe requests within the timeframes required by CAN-SPAM (no later than 10 business days). We do not buy, sell, rent, or trade email lists, and we do not send email on behalf of unrelated third parties.

Push notifications. We send push notifications via Apple (APNs) and Google (FCM). You can disable push categories from Account → Notifications in the portal, or revoke push entirely from your device's Settings.

Your choices

  • Access & correction. Sign in to portal.archetypestrength.com to view, update, or download your account information.
  • Deletion. Email Info@archetypestrength.com to request account deletion. Historical payment, waiver, and check-in records may be retained for tax, legal, and audit purposes after deletion.
  • SMS opt-out. Reply STOP to any text from us, or turn off SMS categories in Account → Notifications.
  • Email opt-out. Click the unsubscribe link in any bulk/marketing email; transactional account emails will continue while your membership is active.
  • Push opt-out. Disable push categories in the portal, or revoke push permission in your device's Settings.
  • Do-not-sell / do-not-share. We never sell or share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of — this status is the default for every member and visitor.

Data retention

We retain account data for as long as your membership is active, plus a reasonable period afterward to handle disputes, refunds, or legal requirements. Deleted accounts retain the minimum information required by law (typically tax records for 7 years).

Children

The Services are intended for adults 18+. Members under 18 must be added by a parent or guardian as part of a family membership; the parent/guardian agrees to this policy on the minor's behalf.

Security

We use industry-standard encryption (TLS in transit, encryption at rest) and follow the principle of least privilege for staff access. No system is perfectly secure — please use a strong, unique password and enable two-factor authentication where offered.

Changes to this policy

We'll post any material changes here and update the "Last updated" date above. If the change is significant, we'll also email signed-in members.
